CBD is becoming an ever more popular in the vaping world. So, what is it and how does it work?
CBD oils have become ever more popular across the globe. Alongside everything that you can find in vape shops,CBD oils are becoming readily available as both herbal and medical remedies across the US and the UK. Targeting a number of disorders, CBD or cannabidiol is a herbal remedy which can help everything from anxiety to chronic pain. So, what is cannabidiol, and why is it becoming so popular?
What is cannabidiol?
One of the 113 cannabinoids in the cannabis plant, cannabidiol make sup about 40 percent of a cannabis plants extract. It is therefore one of the easiest parts of the cannabis plant to extract, and so has been capitalised on as research continues into its many uses. Alongside its medical uses, it can be used recreationally and has found a wide fanbase as an alternative to the everyday e juice in vape devices.
What does cannabidiol do?
Cannabidiol is usually used for a range of medical conditions. These include pain induced by multiple sclerosis and can help aid those suffering from recreational drug dependencies. On top of this, CBD is used as an anti-inflammatory and in epilepsy treatment. Compared to its prohibited counterpart of marijuana, cannabidiol has plenty of uses within the medical realm with no known negative effects when used properly.
How does it differ from THC?
Cannabidiol differs from THC in that it has far less of the psychoactive effects of its sibling chemical. Whilst CBD is a mild relaxant, it does not cause hallucinations or a change in brain functions. Whilst THC helps those suffering from narcolepsy and sleep issues alongside its recreational uses, CBD is used as an anti-psychotic, anti-tumoral and anti-anxiety drug. The reason for it not being psychoactive is because it interacts with the brains receptors in a different way, being used in over 60 different molecular pathways.
Is it legal?
Whilst in tis pure form CBD is as illegal as marijuana, there are pharmaceutical versions and oil versions which are not illegal. Seeing as its found in hemp plants, it can also be used in vape devices and can be legally imported and grown, hence why you can find CBD oils in most headshops and some vape shops.
How do you vape CBD?
Vaping CBD is as easy as vaping your own juices. All you need to vape CBD is an oil in the form of a vape liquid, a battery, a coil and a mouthpiece. You can vape CBD oils on all devices but two are the most popular and easy to use.
Vape pens
Many people will vape with vape pens due to their ease of use and the fact that you don’t have to faff around with the machinery as much. As the second generation of vape devices, all you must do is simply fill up the tank with your CBD oil and power up!
The one downside to vape pen style devices, is that you must sometimes remove your coil. The reason or this is that a coil will burn out eventually, and whilst it is not always dangerous, some people may be allergic to the metal and so when it begins to burn out, and you’ll be able to taste it when it does, an unlucky few could have adverse reactions.
Vape mods
The other option is the mechanical mod. These are far more powerful than the vape pen and will require a certain amount of know how when it comes to building and dismantling the devices.
If you want to try CBD oils but are new to vaping, the best advice is to start with vape pens and then move on to mechanical mods once you get the hang of it.
