E-Cig Mods Features and Benefits

Whether you’re someone who’s been using a basic cigar-like or a more seasoned vaper, it’s understandable if you feel overwhelmed by the various vape types and styles available. But we aren’t here to tell you which one to get. We’re here to show you all the features and benefits that e-cig mods have to offer.

In this article, we’ll guide you through a list of various e-cig mod features to keep an eye on before going ahead and buying one.

Power Range and Variable Wattage

The vast majority of e-cig mods have atomizers that allow you to adjust their wattage. These are called variable wattage mods, or VW, for short.

When choosing a mod (provided that you’re looking for one with variable wattage), the power range is one of the first things to keep an eye on. As a rule of thumb, the wider the range is, the better. Still, the majority of vapers aren’t looking for something too wild in terms of power. Typically, as long as a mod goes up to 75W, it’s likely to be sufficient.

Temperature Control

Many people confuse temperature control (TC) with a mod’s wattage options. In truth, the two aren’t that related. For example, if your puffs feel too “dry,” you aren’t looking to increase the wattage, but the temperature itself. Plus, higher temperatures will squeeze out the most flavour from your e-liquid.

In terms of temperature control, mods can vary vastly. Plus, not all mods come with TC – only the ones with stainless steel, nickel, or titanium coils offer temperature control. If you’re looking for a solid range, get a mod with a TC of 150-315 degrees Celsius.

Output Modes

Don’t expect too many output modes from your vape. In most instances, e-cig mods offer wattage, temperature control, and (occasionally) the bypass mode. If this is enough for you, you don’t have to bother experimenting with additional modes.

However, some models come with various preheat output modes. The “soft” output strength option gives you a gentle start, while the “hard” output modes will boost the power and have the mod hit harder. Still, the majority of vapers stick to the normal output mode, which is why most of them don’t look to go wild with output mode options.

Coil Detection

Tanks and atomizers are changeable parts of e-cig mods. Different tanks/atomizers, however, will change the coil’s resistance, though. Seeing as how mods have chipsets that allow you to see, access, and change the puff resistance, the mod should be able to detect the amount of resistance the coil offers.

Some devices do this automatically. For others, you’ll have to press a button or manually input the resistance option.

Battery Capacity

Generally, 3,000 mAh battery mods will cut it for the majority of vapers. 1,500 mAh batteries are on the weaker side. 5,000 mAh is very serious for a battery. Start with 3,000 mAh. You can upgrade to a better battery capacity later, if necessary. Keep in mind that the better a device’s battery capacity is –the bigger it will be.

Basic E-Cig Features

These are some of the most basic features and benefits when it comes to e-cig mods. If you’re starting, go with the medium-level features – there’s no need for excess. If you’re a seasoned user looking for something different, go ahead and experiment with more advanced options.
