The CBD craze is sweeping the nation, but with so many applications and forms it has taken, which form of CBD has the best effect?

Cannabidiol is one of the chemicals which comes from the cannabis plants. With less of the psychoactive effects of the THC chemical, cannabidiol has found its place in common medicine for a range of different applications. With many people opting to vape CBD oils, other applications have come onto the market, including sweets and pills. The question then, is how best to ingest CBD. With it being so diverse in its clientele and with their wide variety of needs, understanding what works best for you is key to enjoying CBD either as a TPD compliant e liquid or as a pill.

What is CBD?

CBD is one of the chemicals secreted by the cannabis plant. This naturally occurring cannabinoid is one of 113 different chemicals within the plant and makes up for a whopping 40 percent of a hemp plants extract. CBD is therefore incredibly abundant, but was not seen as of pharmaceutical use until well past its discovery in the 1940’s.

Applications for CBD

Over the years, a wide range of applications have been found for CBD. With more and more research being fed into the chemical, it has become abundantly clear that it harbours none of the psychoactive effects of THC and has none of the anxiety inducing side effects often associated with the illegal chemical. This means that CBD is used less for recreational purposes and more for the medical.

Epilepsy

One of the first reasons the CBD legality debate came up was in its potent effect on the treatment of two forms of childhood epilepsy. An orally administered solution which also used sesame oil, was approved in the US for Lennox-Gastaut syndrome and Dravet syndrome.

Pain relief in multiple sclerosis

Multiple sclerosis is a neurological disease which can cause rashes, blindness and a loss of coordination and motor function. With the pain associated with multiple sclerosis, Canada have authorised the use of an aerosol spray made up of both CBD and THC. This orally administered spray, much like a vape inhaler, is used to bring quick relief to symptoms.

Anxiety

The psychological effects of CBD may not be psychoactive, but they are calming and therapeutic, without any of the recreational side effects. This makes it perfect for those who are suffering from anxiety and panic attacks and is available in both pill and aerosol form. In terms of anxiety and mental illnesses, CBD has also been known to help regulate your sleep cycle, making it the perfect treatment for insomnia.

CBD as a pill or chew

CBD is available as both a pill, a medicine and in a chewable form. These are administered orally and have a range of tastes and flavours added to them. Whilst this is the most practical and cheapest way to ingest CBD, the patient not needing an inhaler or vape device, there is still a range of problems when it comes to eating CBD. The liver breaks down the CBD pill, thus rendering around 85% of the chemical useless. You only get around 15% of the chemicals effects from eating it.

Vaping with CBD

On the other hand, CBD in vape is inhaled straight into your lungs, and most of the chemical is absorbed into the lining, as well as through the mouth and gums. This makes it far more efficient to vape CBD oils, ensuring that you are making the most out of the chemical and the desired effects associated with it.
