Nope, it’s not a nickname for your friend Julia and no, it’s not your everyday e cigarette.
The JUUL is in a league of its own when it comes to vaping. If you own a vape device or you have been vaping for a while now, you may still not have come across these fairly new devices. Whilst vaping has come on leaps and bounds, the JUUL is doing its own thing, and focuses on a very specific market rather than the broader range of the normal e cigarette.
So what exactly is JUUL and how do they match up to the normal vape device?
What is a JUUL?
A JUUL is a vape device with a very specific set of utilities. The JUUL, like a normal vape device is made of a similar circuit board and also contains e juice. The cartridges you place within the device are much like a pod mod and allow you to vape discreetly and quickly change cartridges. The devices have no temperature controls and have very specific heat regulators. They are built with a regulated circuit so that there are no power outages and come with their own USB charging kits. On top of this, they are sleek sophisticated and discreet in their build, often being cited as the “iphone of the vape world”.
What is different about them?
One of the main differences are in the aforementioned; the devices are built very slim and streamlined, making them discreet and manageable. If you’re looking for a device which can fit easily into your pocket or bag whilst also being powerful, then this is the device for you. Also, like pod mods, these devices have cartridges, but unlike pod mods, there are no temperature controls. This is great for some and not as great for others, these devices being marketed towards ex-smokers. Unlike vape devices, these are vapes which are fairly rigid in the flavours available and the way you can vape them, meaning that they are not for the enthusiasts but rather those looking for an easy way to cut out cigarettes from their lives.
Should you vape or JUUL?
This question entirely depends on what you want to get from vaping. Vaping is often one of the best ways for you to quit smoking, but if you want something a little more flexible then you’d best go for a mechanical mod or a vape pen with temperature control settings. The JUUL will benefit you if you just want a quick hit and whilst there are plenty of flavours to choose from, they are not as diverse as the adaptable vape juices which fill up your every day tank carrying device.
One problem people have with the JUUL is ironically also a benefit. Their ease of use means that people are worried that children may get hold of them and be able to work them. Whilst there are unrefuted claims that vaping can act as a gateway to tobacco smoking, there are definitely stringent laws in place which means that underage vapers can’t buy devices, much like tobacco and alcohol laws.
